"When the war started, I had to stop everything, and I felt lost."
When the war started, I had to stop everything, and I felt lost. Should I prepare myself and my old mother, who can barely see, hear or walk, for evacuation? It was distater. I didn’t know what was going to change, but I knew what I was losing. Our army however, defending Kyiv, defending our country, has allowed us to survive and brought hope into our lives. I took my lira, and decided that I’d celebrate with my people during our spring festivities. My music connected with people and uplifted them, ignited their fighting spirit and gave them the belief that we wouldn’t and couldn’t be defeated. Performing since the war started has only increased people's craving for culture.
